Forever Alone
By G. W. Mainhood
I understand what true pain is.
Waking up without a soul;
Existing forever, but always alone.
I know where sorrow is born.
In icy depths of man’s empty heart;
His spirit of love to tear apart.
I see misery in every face.
Knowing no mercy, nor joy, nor peace;
Only death can bring them ease.
I hear loathing in every word.
Every breath a burning pain;
Lies, deceit, and wraths disdain.
I feel hate inside mankind.
Rotting filth, disease, decay;
In their defence, nothing to say.
I taste the rotting flesh of sin.
Toxic putrescence, bitter and vile;
Evil by nature, the mind of a child.
I am the truth in all that you feel.
My humanity stolen, compassion is gone;
I am that which you know is wrong.
I am in misery and darkness complete.
Knowing no other than that of my soul;
Destined for solitude, I am always alone.

Well… unless you can sometimes be alone with my company. I’m just parodying the poem…I’m sorry! It’s because of my TCC… The parode is running in my veins. But it means that I like it. This poem is sadly and unconsolable good!

It’s very alike the state of mind of the F.M. Dostoyevsky’s main hero of “Crime and Punishment” Rodion Raskolnikov, but the last have found the way out.

Though “Crime and Punishment” resides on my bookshelf I have yet to read it. But I will keep your comment in mind when I do.

C&P’s a great book although it’s said that it’s quite hardreadable,
besides I cant really imagine what does it look like in translation…

Well, even if I DON’T AGREE with the main message,because in my opinion if people change theirs habits and stop being so isolated,they will never be alone,mainly when they are a totally amazing and funny.
By the way, I loved the poem and I hope you continue posting more poems like that =)
